CHRISTMAS TIME AT ST PAUL’S 2024
1st December - Sunday
Posada – Our church Posada begins; a time when our Mary & Joseph figures move from home to home amongst the congregation of St Paul’s. This year the Posada will also travel to be among our Anglican friends at Christ Church, from 19th December, remaining there until Christmas Eve, then returning from Midnight Communion to St Paul’s on Christmas Day.
Church decoration – After morning worship we will decorate the trees and build the Nativity scenes in the church and in front of the big window
2nd December - Monday
Happy Days Christmas Dinner – St Paul’s is the venue where the staff and service users of Happy Days will enjoy a Christmas Dinner cooked by a professional chef.
10th December - Tuesday
Gifts to our local residents – We will be distributing a Christmas Gift Bag to each of the flats in the two blocks next to our church.
12th December - Thursday
Thursday Church Christingle evening, 6pm - Our minister, Revd Kathie Heathcoat, will lead our Thursday Night Together @ Church in the making of Christingles, leading into a short Christingle worship. (This is for adults and not suitable for young children.)
14th December - Saturday
Live Nativity, open from 11am to 4pm – Come and see the live animals around the crib in the stable, enjoy some crafts and festive refreshments. There is no entry charge but you’re welcome to bring a food donation for the Community Food Bank.
15th December - Sunday
Sunday Get-Together Christmas Dinner, 3pm
Carols by Candlelight, 6pm - Led by Revd Kathie Heathcoat. This is an accessible carol service for all ages.
19th December - Thursday
Nine Lessons and Carols, 7pm @ at Christ Church – Our “Thursday Night Together @ Church” will wrap up a little bit sooner and we will all go down the road to join in this special service with our Anglican friends, in which St Paul’s has been invited to participate.
21st December - Saturday
Carol Singing at Tesco, 11am to 1pm – Together with people from other churches in the town, we will sing in the entrance to the store. We will also be sharing the love of Christmas by giving away knitted angels with a message of goodwill. Come and join us!
22nd December - Sunday
Chatty Church, 10.30am – Our Morning Worship will be informal and led by the Worship Leaders, with some well chosen Christmas carols and hymns.

Christmas Eve Midnight Communion,
11.30pm at Christ Church
25th December - Christmas Day, 11am
All Age Worship at St Paul’s, led by Revd Kathie Heathcoat. Traditionally, we bring one of our presents to show!
